There can be no doubt about how important protein is to your training goals. If muscle is what you’re after, then protein is the single most important nutrient you can take. What’s more, a protein powder can ensure you meet your daily requirements. Yet it can’t be any protein.
When it comes to superior quality and absorption, hydro whey, aka hydrolyzed whey, is your best choice. To discover all of the benefits of this high-quality protein, including why it's different from other whey proteins, keep reading!
What Is Hydro Whey
Hydro whey is a pre-digested whey protein. Hydro whey releases amino acids quickly and has the fastest digestion rate of any whey protein. The idea behind hydro whey is to increase bioavailability thereby enhancing protein synthesis.
Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Benefits
Hydrolyzed whey offers tremendous amino acid support, fast-acting absorption, and low fat to support lean muscle growth. The benefit of using a fast-absorbing protein like hydro whey is that your muscles can begin to utilize the broken-down protein faster to begin building and repairing the muscles.
7 Benefits Of Using Hydro Whey Protein
- Very High Leucine Content
- Superior Amino Acid Delivery To The Muscles
- Improved Bioavailability For Faster Protein Synthesis Stimulation
- Enhances Recovery Due To Faster Digestion Rate
- Supports Fat Loss
- Small Protein Particles For Fast Digestion

Hydro Whey Vs Whey
Whey protein is the highest quality protein you can buy. Hydro whey is a whey isolate that is broken down into smaller particles for superior absorption.
There are three forms of whey. The first is concentrate, with a protein content of 60%-80% depending on the brand. Whey isolate is next, with a 90% protein content. This has been the highest quality whey for years. Finally, there’s hydrolyzed whey. Hydro whey has a superior absorption rate compared to other whey proteins.
Is Hydrolyzed Whey Better Than Isolate
When it comes to digestion speed, hydro whey is the best choice. It absorbs significantly faster than isolate. This makes it the better choice if ultra-fast digestion fits your training goals.
Otherwise, hydro whey protein is whey isolate, so it’s the highest quality protein available. If you’re lactose intolerant or looking for a protein that’s free of fillers, you won’t find a better option.
The Best Hydrolyzed Whey Protein
The best hydrolyzed whey protein should offer high-quality protein content and work efficiently to help your body quickly absorb and digest the protein. Hydro whey should contain broken down protein structures and BCAAs to help your body immediately begin using them to build muscle.
MRI Performance Hydro Isolate Protein blows other hydro whey supplements out of the water. Hydro Isolate Protein contains 25g protein per serving from hydrolyzed whey and whey isolate. It also combines the two highest-quality proteins on the market.
While the digestion rate of both is about 2-3 hours, hydro whey protein digests a little faster. You can’t go wrong with either hydro whey or whey isolate, and with Hydro Isolate Protein, you don’t have to choose.
It doesn’t stop there. Hydro Isolate Protein is low carb, low sugar, low fat and it’s naturally flavored and sweetened with a small amount of sucralose.
Plus, hydro whey protein contains a high leucine content. Of course, leucine is the most anabolic amino acid of all. It’s well known as a trigger for protein synthesis. That’s important because MRI Hydro Isolate Protein contains Velositol that enhances protein synthesis.
Before we look at this special ingredient in more detail, here’s a study on the quality and effectiveness of hydrolyzed whey:
Hydro Whey Protein Study:
Hydro Whey Parameters
This study was published in the Journal of Science in Medicine and Sports. This study used 28 test subjects. These subjects engaged in a training session where they completed 100 leg extensions. The focus of this exercise was on the eccentric portion of the rep. An eccentric movement is the negative part of the rep.
Immediately following the training session, test subjects consumed either 25 grams of hydrolyzed whey, 25 grams of whey isolate, or a protein-free placebo. Recovery was determined by subjective ratings, blood markers, and performance testing. The measures were completed 1, 2, 6, and 24 hours post-workout.
Here's what the researchers found. The test subjects consuming hydrolyzed whey post-workout experienced better recovery and improved performance. This was in comparison with subjects given whey isolate.
The hydro whey subjects were able to train again 6 hours later. In contrast, the whey isolate and placebo subjects had not fully recovered even after 24 hours. This suggests the type of whey protein you use has a definite impact on results. (1)
Hydro Whey Protein And Velositol
Velositol® is a patented ingredient that, when combined with protein, will increase protein synthesis stimulation. Protein synthesis is a direct trigger of muscle growth and recovery.
This is the special ingredient mentioned earlier. Here’s how it works.
As noted, Velositol increases protein synthesis in combination with whey protein and exercise. It works by enhancing insulin sensitivity. This means an improved uptake of amino acids into the muscles. This in turn stimulates protein synthesis.
One of the compounds in Velositol is chromium picolinate. This compound improves insulin function and supports nutrient metabolism. Insulin is a highly anabolic hormone that can produce numerous anabolic effects.
These effects include increased nutrient metabolism. It also includes an increased rate of amino acid and glucose uptake into muscle cells. For these reasons, Velositol is believed to enhance protein synthesis stimulation by way of insulin.
Hydrolyzed Whey Protein & Velositol Study:
Research studies indicate Velositol effectively doubles the effect of protein when consumed together. Here’s a study that demonstrates its effects.
Velositol Study Parameters
This is a double-blind, crossover design, active-controlled trial study. This study used ten healthy male and female test subjects. These subjects were given either 6g of whey protein plus 2g of Velositol or 6g whey protein alone. This was consumed first thing in the morning after an overnight fast.
After a single dose and resistance exercise, muscle protein synthesis (MPS) was measured by the fractional rate of protein synthesis (FSR) in skeletal muscle. MPS was significantly higher among subjects given Velositol. Compared to whey protein by itself, Velositol doubled MPS versus whey protein alone. (2)
Hydro Whey & Protein Synthesis
The key to staying in an anabolic environment is to consume consistently timed protein. This includes whole food protein and Hydro Isolate Protein. We suggest 1-2 servings per day.
MRI Performance Hydro Isolate Protein is your ideal protein choice first thing in the morning. If you work a long day or go to school all day, take your MRI Performance Shaker and 1-2 servings with you. The point is that you want to avoid a catabolic environment at all costs.
Another key time to ingest protein is in the hours surrounding the workout. You want to go into your session having ingested a protein like Hydro Isolate Protein about an hour before. Once you’re done, make sure and another Hydro Isolate shake. Recovery starts as soon as you complete your last rep. Why wait? Grab that shake and recover right!
Wait! We Haven’t talked About The Taste!
No doubt, you want the most effective protein powder you can buy. No doubt you know that hydro whey is the absolute best when it comes to premium quality and superior absorption. When the talk turns to MRI Hydro Isolate Protein, you want to know it’s going to taste good.
