What is Ornithine?
Posted by MRI Performance on 21st Apr 2020
Ornithine is an amino acid that is created by the body. A byproduct of the urea cycle, the liver combines enzymes and arginine to form ornithine.
Ornithine is then used as a precursor to many other important compounds in the body including citrulline, proline and more.
Ornithine also aids in eliminating excess nitrogen from the body, as well as ammonia to avoid toxic conditions from build up
Ornithine and Athletics
Ornithine is often used to enhance performance during training because it reduces fatigue allowing athletes to train longer. It does so by stimulating the pituitary gland which releases growth hormones and also increases the metabolism of carbs, fats and proteins. Increasing the metabolism means they’re broken down more quickly so you can use them as fuel during your training.
More fuel can mean more endurance, coupled with reduced fatigue and your body
could break through a plateau or genetic ceiling by reaching new limits.
Long-term, consider what longer training sessions can do for your results: build more lean muscle, increase strength, power and stamina.
With that information, one might wonder why all supplements don’t have ornithine. If you aren’t getting enough in your diet, you might not be reaching your full potential.
Every scoop of MRI Performance NO2 Black has 750mg of ornithine.
